Canadian Jazz Artist Mike Field Closes Historic Venue in Las Vegas With Final Show at The Nevada Room

Las Vegas, NV — Internationally acclaimed Canadian jazz trumpeter and composer Mike Field made his Las Vegas debut this summer with a series of performances at The Nevada Room, culminating in a sold-out final concert on August 20, 2022 — the last public show ever held at the beloved venue.

Hosted by Tom Michel, the three-show residency brought Field’s energetic and original jazz compositions to life, featuring an outstanding lineup of Las Vegas-based musicians: Mattia Ciarmoli (drums), Eddie Sarabia (tenor sax), Micah Smith (piano), and Keegan Carter (upright bass).

The final performance was made especially memorable by the presence of Clint Holmes and Kelly Clinton — two of Las Vegas’s most cherished entertainers. Holmes, a Grammy-nominated singer and performer, has long been a pillar of the city's music scene, while Clinton has been a tireless advocate for the arts and a beloved fixture in Las Vegas entertainment. Their attendance was a powerful nod to the significance of the night and The Nevada Room’s legacy.

“The Nevada Room is a beautiful space with heart and soul,” said Field. “It was an honor to perform there before its closing and to share the stage with such incredible local musicians.”

Field’s Las Vegas performances took place on June 11, August 6, and August 20, forming part of his Vegas Summer 2022 series. With the closing of The Nevada Room, Field leaves behind a fitting final note — one of gratitude, inspiration, and world-class jazz — and looks forward to future performances in Las Vegas.
